The Pre-Appointment Check List

All Registered Massage Therapy Clinics are expected to prevent communicable disease transmission!

  • Medical Screening
  • Public Health Order: (none)
  • Clinic Information for First Appointments
  • Downloadable Patient Intake and Insurance forms on the website, for first appointment.

Communicable diseases are infectious diseases!

  • All RMT clinics practice communicable disease prevention and are scent free zones!
Please do not attend the clinic while either ill or emitting strong scents from perfumes, oils, chemicals and smoke related substances.
  • please ensure you practice proper hygienic care before coning to the clinic.
  • Notice: it is now "cold & flu season":  the common cold, influenza, "Covid" (SARS) and Allergies share some of the same symptoms.

Communicable infectious diseases: key point: this transmission is typically very easy and results from close, casual contact: like in a massage treatment.

1) Medical Screening:

part I) respiratory disease, transmission through air (and surfaces)

  • If you have a fever or chills, coughing or sneezing, headache, sore throat, or nasal discharge...

  • DO NOT COME TO THE CLINIC WHEN YOU ARE NOT WELL !

  • Inform the Clinic as soon as possible!
Upon your first symptoms...close to appointment date, outside of the 48-hour. Or within the 48-hour call leave                                                      message, "Due to illness...I have to cancel", please. I will respond acknowledging your cancellations.

  • If you require medial advice, call 811, seek or call a walk-in clinic or your doctor. See Healthlink BC website.

The Clinic does not offer diagnosis
. By Law any advice given by RMTs on any medical aspects are processional opinions.
Healthlink BC website

  • If you attended the Clinic while asymptomatic a respiratory disease, and tested positive for "covid" within 7 days, please inform the clinic.

  •    Masks/hand sanitizer are available at the Clinic

Part II) Disease Transmission through skin or touch.

  • There is a fair expectation of patient hygiene upon arrival at the Clinic

  • If the skin has an "abnormal" presentation, this is considered as area(s) not to be touched. Such as cuts (open sores), abrasions, bumps, discoloration, rashes, blisters, bruises, injection sites, painful or irritated areas, areas of sensation change- should be reported to the clinic.

  • RMTs likely will report any irregularities or changes in bumps & moles to patient, advising patient to get a medical opinion.

2) Public Health Orders:

  • None, affecting Massage Therapy Clinics.

3) Patient responsibilities: BE PREPARED!

(a) "Terms and Conditions of Service" & Clinic Polices agreed to by booking,
(b) Appointment Punctuality - almost 100% of non-punctional patients did not prepare before attending Clinic
.
(c) Clinic to Patient communications - are intended to full-fill  the previous two responsibilities.

Clinic to Patient communications -

The Clinic Information Guide, booking system service descriptions/confirmation emails include reminders. All pages on this website have informative value to understand the Clinic's operation. Read first, ask for clarification if needed.

Be prepared before your appointment:

  • Do you know the date & time of your appointment?
  • Did you read the booking confirmation email message?
  • Do you know the location (entrance)? - "Lates" too often do not check entrance picture on the Contact & Location page!
  • Allow enough time to arrive safely. ("Lates" always under-estimate commute time)
  • Do you know pay parking? ( coins $2 per hour)
  • Do you know the methods of payment (cash, cheque or etransfer)?
  • Do you know to arrive only 10-minutes before your appointment start time?
  • Do you know to ring the button, if the door is locked?

  • See Clinic Information Guide page
  • See Terms & Conditions of Service and First Appointment page
  • If "NEW" to massage therapy?                                                                                                                                                                                     Read The Massage Therapy Information file - explains medical concepts and treatment disclosures on the Forms and MT information page.
  • Do you understand your Insurance Policy coverage?
  • Patient Intake form & insurance consent form(s) available on the Forms and MT information page
