About John Forsyth RMT.

Life has its challenges and massage therapy has personally restored my wellness no matter at what stage of life I am at.

Why did I end up as an RMT?

In 1985, after the first stage of the Tour of Grasslands bicycle race, I received a post-race massage from the late Anita Patrick RMT. The results were life changing, not because I felt that I could race again post massage. But more so, I had met someone who might be able to help me with the results of a car-bicycle accident a year or more earlier that changed my life forever. Anita had left a great impression and was in part the impetus for such a change!

My RMT Work

My treatments aim for restoration of pain-free movement within each individual needs.

I see massage therapy as a great modality for soft-tissue treatment and as a part of preventative and rehabilitative medicine. As a health maintenance modality its sound -  preventative health care. Massage therapy coupled with other modalities and active rehabilitative activities has often more benefits than just massage.

Whether sporty deep tissue or calming (relaxation) the nervous system approach without being spa massage.

Treatments may include thorough Swedish based massage, with along with a variety of techniques or approaches that best suit the client’s condition within a client-focused treatment.

Experience: I will not only bring forward my more than twelve years of massage therapy

Some 12 years ago (the pic), starting in Vancouver John Forsyth RMT worked out of the following clinics: the Massage & Therapy Centre, Central Lonsdale Massage Therapy Clinic and in the Okanagan: at the Sea Escape Massage, the Front Street clinics; and now here at the Nanaimo Ave clinic!

But my educational, athletic and experiences from SFU Kinesiology, SFU The Institute for Human Performance, CAC's NCCP Sports and Coaching Science with a Cycling Specialty and finally the West Coast College of Massage Therapy RMT program and as a former member of the BC Cycling Team into a medically sound therapeutic treatment. I am as passionate for cycling as Canadian's are for hockey. I encourage clients to have some kind of recreation and activities that promote a healthy outcome.

And the RMT Continuing Education courses including the mentionable: Armand Ayaltin’s Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy, Dr. Travel’s trigger-point therapy, Jim Bilotta’s soft-tissue release, variety of orthopaedic and soft-tissue techniques, and perhaps even gentler, lymphatic and or Diane Jacob’s dermoneuromodulation techniques for peripheral and superficial nerves. And a list of colleagues that have passed on their knowledge through our professional educational system not mentioned.

Every person's treatment is individualized to suit their needs. I have worked with adolescents to the mature adults, from the sedentary to elite athletes.... How about you?
